New Site, New Design

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Well, I did it.  I installed Wordpress and tweaked the hell out of the default template.  It works in IE and Firefox.  If you aren’t running those and it looks like ass, I apologize, but oh well.

Other blog will be going down shortly and redirecting here.

I should note that I have been writing, but because I’ve been waiting on updating this thing, I haven’t been writing about writing.  Irony!

Aaaand it’s way past my bedtime.

what we live for

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

I’ve got more things to live for lately — things that take me away from the keyboard. Consequently, my typing time has started to increase in value.

That said, I’m seriously eyeballing this whole site consolidation thing for the following reasons:

  1. I like blogging
  2. I don’t feel it meaningfully gets in the way of my regular writing.
  3. The older I get, the harder it is for me to be scattered.
  4. Someone, somewhere, is reading this.
  5. AND (most important) I like writers who blog and connect with their audiences.

I’m thinking again about my writing, and I’m set on two big purchases this year: a laptop and a mountain bike. The latter may sound like it has nothing at all to do with writing, but there’s something else I believe in — getting away from the keyboard is a good thing. And my best ideas usually strike me while I’m doing physical activity or out in the wild. Why not combine both?

So, that’s what’s up here at the Three Cuppa. A new design will be forthcoming, along with posts that are more than just “wrote ten words, fed the cat, went to bed”. Comments will open up. The heavens will rain with love and kisses.

Oh, and I did some more outlining.

we have upgraded….

The site to Movable Type. Not as bad as Wordpress’s upgrade procedure, actually, and I’m liking the new backend.

I am still contemplating turning this into a full site. With a better design. And updates other than just “I wrote a word! Hee!”

But that’s for another day.
